A 'Sangha' is a group of women who are constantly engaged in planning and execution of activities for social change, with an organizational approach.
Strengthening of the 'Sanghas'
'Sanghas' in 16 districts with about 80 thousand sangha members.
Glimmer of empowerment is clearly visible.
Capacity building is through-
Sahyogini the main agent of change trained at district and state.
Subject wise - recurring orientation of sangha members.
Village-level conceptual training.
Rallies, Wall-writing, street plays, distribution of posters, pamphlets etc. and community meetings.
Promoting mutual relationship for 'Sangha' formation and working for legitimate rights and justice.
Training in 3-4 phases of selected representatives from Sangha women for developing their leadership qualities and imparting their elementary information on health, panchayat, education,legal matters etc.
Mobilizing community for obtaining education and running kishori kendras, children's centres, women's literacy centres, and literacy camps.
Bringing nari adalats (women's courts) into the role of interventionist against violence towards women.
Inspiring panchayat to incorporate women's issues.
Increasing awareness about personal health and hygiene.
To disseminate knowledge about the use of herbs through 32 Nari Sanjeevani Centres and to make available greater health care facilities.
Federations would federate and take on the role of coordination, as well as monitoring and management of key MS structures.
Federation will be a forum of collective reflection and guidance to its different levels.
Establish federation as an autonomous body.
Federation will be socially, economically & politically strong Federation will be aware about their rights.
Federation will work as a strong pressure group.
Women will have their own bank.
Mahila Samakhya will provide stability to Resource Centre which will support the federation.
Violence will reduce in the area.
No child marriage.
All girls will be literate.
Exit Policy and role of MS
MS UP is helping them to take over key role in coordination of its major activities such as running of MSKs, Nari Adalats, Sanjivani kendras, Kishori kendras, Bal kendras, Shaksharta kendras etc.
It is planned that funds for educational activities and mobilization will be, where necessary and Mahasangha ready will be channeled through them.
Mahasanghas will be made the vehicle of expansion of programmatic vision and programme within the district and outside the district.
